Mrs. Buford has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Wayne State University and an MSW from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She was a Community-Based Initiative Scholar focusing on Community Organizing in Communities and Social Systems. She is also on track to complete a doctoral certificate in Social Work Research and Evaluation at Wayne State University.  

She worked for 4 1/2 years as a Foster Care Specialist for the State of Michigan in Macomb County. She then served as the Communications and Outreach Coordinator for the CHAMPS Program at Wayne State University for almost 5 years. Currently, Mrs. Buford is the Project Director for the Bexar County Fostering Educational Success Program in San Antonio, Texas.
